Norman A. Volkerding (Norm) founded QC Industries in 1981. He started with the belief that hard work and good people were the keys to building a strong business. He believed people were a company's strongest asset and worked hard to develop them to their fullest potential. Norm cultivated people's strengths and helped them with their weaknesses. He insisted no one was ever working for him, but rather with him.
Never afraid to make a decision, he believed making no decision was far worse than making the wrong one. He strove to make the workplace enjoyable, challenging and rewarding. He truly loved people and people truly loved him.
Norm retired in April 2000 at the age of 73. We can honestly say that his inspiration guides us everyday. His work ethic and caring disposition live throughout our corporate culture. His leadership is the foundation on which our business stands today.
Today, David W. Dornbach is the sole owner of QC Industries. David joined the company in 1984 and became the general manager of the organization in 1988. In 1997 David became Vice President of the company and purchased 25% of the stock from Norm. David and Norm were partners until 2000 when Norm retired and David purchased the remaining interest in the organization. Under David's leadership QC Industries has seen phenomenal growth, expanding into new markets and products.
